The purpose is to bring together persons interested in Japanese culture and to encourage the community-building spirit of making mochi (rice cakes) as a celebration of the New Year.
There will be taiko drum performances by Odaiko Sonora, mochi rice pounding demonstrations, games & prizes, free mochi samples, along with other Japanese cultural activities such as Anime, calligraphy, martial arts, kyudo (archery), singing, authentic Japanese Tea Ceremony, ikebana,and exhibitions from several Pima CC student groups.
