New Upcoming Movies link on SAJCC website

In Spring 2018 I noticed that there were a lot of Japanese movies (animated and regular) on the Loft Cinema (3233 E. Speedway Blvd.) website.

Of course I had been posting them on our Calendar for years, but realized that we needed a separate link for Upcoming Movies, highlighting the beautiful movie posters.  So for these Japanese movies, please go to:

Upcoming Movies

This new link is also on the top bar of our website  as “Upcoming Movies”.

August/September schedule (updated):

“Cowboy Bebop: The Movie – Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” – August 15 and 16 at the Loft

“Howl’s Moving Castle” – Aug 31 to Sept. 3 at the Loft

“The Sword of  Doom”  – Sept. 2 at The Screening Room

“The Night is Short, Walk on Girl” starting September 7 at the Loft

“Gamera Triple Feature” on September 8 at the Screening Room

Other movie theaters featuring Japanese films will also be added to this link, such as The Screening Room (127 E. Congress St.), The Fox Tucson Theatre (17 W. Congress St.), on the UA Campus, or at church sites in Tucson.

The class description

Japanese Cooking & Culture

” The Japan born instructor will teach student how to make rolled Sushi and other popular Japanese food and snacks. The students will also learn how to use chopsticks and eat noodles that they have cooked. Each class will start with basic Japanese language lessons and the students will speak simple Japanese expressions. The class may be supplemented with other fun Japanese activities such as Origami as time permits. This will be a new cultural experience for American students to taste what Japanese children enjoy eating and to experience Japanese activities. Returning students are welcome.”

This coming academic year, we would like to invite children in all over Tucson who is interested in Japanese language and culture to experience our one of a kind program.
If you wish to enroll your child, please fill out Enrollment Intent and mail it along with $30 one-time enrollment fee by July 20, 2018.
